Chapel Rental for Weddings in New Orleans Area

 Couples ask me about renting a church or chapel for their wedding service in New Orleans. Usually I tell them to rent St. Mary's in Kenner, LA. The city of Kenner has a replica church in Heritage Park at River town near the airport. The pavilion can be rented too. Also a hall is there for a reception. Here is the information and phone number to call to rent the chapel. The chapel is in Kenner near the New Orleans Airport. About 20 minutes drive from the French Quarter on the interstate.

 Church Capacity is max 45 people
Rental fee of $100/hr (alone)
Rental fee of $75.00/hr (if booked with another Hall)
Deposit of $150.00 ($100 is a refundable damage deposit)
Deposit waived if booked with another Hall
Includes 1 hour before and 1 hour after event for set-up and clean up
Extra set-up time available for $50.00/hr (2 hours maximum)

 All Kenner rental Facilities are set up with tables and chairs on the day of the event. Applicants are responsible for catering, table coverings, *ice and all other items associated with their function.The Kenner Recreation Department is proud to offer a variety of facilities available for a variety of events. Special Requirements on all Rentals
A Police Detail is required for events serving alcohol, with over 50 people in attendance, for events invloving teenagers, for couples showers, etc. and for any other event the City of Kenner deems necessary. The Police Detail is $30/hr (4 hour minimum) and will be arranged by Kenner Staff but must be paid in cash to the officer on the day of the event. The officer must be present for all party time plus last hour assigned for clean-up.

The Secret to Affordable Weddings

  For over 20 years I have done many weddings in the large New Orleans Metro area. I am often contacted by couples on a budget wanting to be married simply in a beautiful spot without a large expense. For an elopement of less than 12 people attending, several beautiful public spots are available for free to use. A marriage license is less then $30, a free location, several witnesses in a public park runs less then $300. A lot better then an office setting where an elopement may be a little less but also a lot less romantic. Cheap, budget, affordable, whatever you want to call it a simple elopement under $300 in a beautiful location saves the couple a lot of money and a lot of planning.

 Couples meet at the Pirates Alley Cafe then find a nice spot to get married near Jackson Square for a small romantic elopement. Several spots in the French Quarter are available for an intimate ceremony. Larger weddings need to rent a place but for a few people a nice stand up ceremony can be done in certain public areas,

Inexpensive Weddings in Greater New Orleans Area Jerry Schwehm Officiant

 Contact former Justice of the Peace,  Jerry Schwehm. It is possible to get married in New Orleans area for just over $250. The wedding license runs about $30 and you can meet a former Justice of the Peace for as little as $199 on week days at his office or a nice spot in a park.  Just read over the information on this blog. Contact by e-mail ask about the special weekday rates at special spots and make an appointment to elope. This rate is limited on certain days and in parks close to his office and must be arranged ahead.  Meet a Minister at a local park on days made by appointment ahead of time. Limited days and hours for this rate. Must be arranged ahead of time and must have license before arranged. Special rate does not apply if he has to travel away from his office. Two witnesses and license  needed, not provided by officiant.  Regular weddings run about $250, depends on date, time, and location. Reduced rate is for weekdays in a park close by my office when available. The park is prettier then an office wedding and same fee usually. Must be scheduled in advance. How to get license in New Orleans on State of Louisiana marriage license page. A booking fee deposit is required to hold date and time. There is a delay of 24 hours after getting license before ceremony but can be waived for out of state couples married in New Orleans.


 Weddings in New Orleans at other locations also. Fees based on date, time, location, and if travel is required. Most weddings in the French Quarter are $250 plus parking. E-mail for detailed information. Officiant licensed for Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. By appointment only. No drop ins. Marriage license must be gotten  before wedding date. Louisiana marriage license is needed to be married in Louisiana. Be sure to know what documents to bring and both parties must be present to sign for a license.
