In western culture the wedding ceremony ends with The Kiss, but we should consider planning the wedding with a KISS. Keeping things simple makes the celebration go well and saves money. Lots of things done today are from times past and no longer apply. Just about everyone carries a cell phone with a camera and will snap many photos of your day. Creating a special email address and Flickr account will allow family and friends to share with you the many photos they take at your wedding. Yahoo allows you to have a free email account and a link to the Flickr account associated with it. Email that in a notice to your family and friends and ask them to share those photos with you and you can then store them on Flickr free. You have the ability to have photos made, greeting cards, thank you notes all from the photos shared with you in this manner. Gmail  and Microsoft also allows some photo storage on their free cloud service. Choose the service you like for your wedding day photos and special email account. Sample "BenandAmysWeddingDay@emaill account". Share with all guests to email you the pictures. You never know what gem of a photo someone has of your day until you see it.

Wedding on the Mississippi River Levee

A lovely couple chose to be married on the river levee in Algiers. The reception was then held at Old Point Bar,  in New Orleans fashion.

 The service was a great way to share all the photos of my New Orleans weddings and the beautiful locations. All my new photos now go up on Pinterest, home it stays around.

 I worked on a new logo for Fig Street Weddings, Chaplain Jerry Schwehm to use on www.figstreet.com/weddings. It has  him in a black robe and hat with red stole but as a silhouette.
I need to touch it up more.

Getting Married In New Orleans Jackson Square

Jackson Square is a park in the center of the New Orleans French Quarter and can be used for weddings. The City rents the park but simple elopements can be done at the gate on St. Peter St for no fees. To rent the park you contact the city parks department. They rent the park but not chairs or anything else which can be obtain from rental groups in the Yellow pages.

 Be sure to contact the city as the Square is busy and on certain weekends closed for festivals.

New Orleans City Park is an alternative. For elopements we can use the Gate if the Quarter is not too busy.

Chaplain Jerry Schwehm has done many weddings in both spots over the past 20 years.
